Memphis Anesthesia Expert Stephen Finder Named President of Tennessee Nurse Anesthetists Association

Stephen Finder, a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) who lives and works in Memphis, has been named the 2024-25 president of the 2,555-member Tennessee Association of Nurse Anesthetists (TANA). Finder, who works for LifeLinc Anesthesia providing anesthesia services at various hospitals and surgery centers throughout the Memphis area, took office during TANA’s 87th Annual Meeting in Franklin.

“I am honored and humbled to serve the dedicated nurse anesthetists of Tennessee on behalf of more than 2 million patients across our state who receive anesthesia care from CRNAs each year,” said Finder, who has been a CRNA for eight years. CRNAs are anesthesia experts who practice in every type of healthcare setting where anesthesia is needed for surgical, obstetrical, trauma stabilization, and pain management procedures.

“When it comes to quality, hands-on anesthesia care, CRNAs are the most prolific providers in Tennessee and throughout the U.S.,” Finder said. “CRNAs are known for their vigilance when providing anesthesia to patients, and in the same vein TANA needs to be vigilant as an organization to protect and advance CRNA practice on behalf of our patients. I look forward to working with my fellow TANA colleagues to advocate for our profession during the next 12 months.”

Prior to receiving the gavel as president of TANA, Finder has served in various capacities on the TANA Board of Directors and different committees since 2015.

Finder earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Anesthesia in 2016 from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, AR, in 2011. Finder also earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Marketing from the University of Arkansas in Little Rock, AR, in 2006.

“With our state and country’s aging population, there is a growing demand for essential healthcare services that require anesthesia,” Finder pointed out. “I see CRNAs as the champions for keeping Tennessee’s operating rooms running efficiently and effectively thanks to the safe, cost-effective anesthesia services we enable hospitals and other healthcare facilities to provide.”
