Donna Keeney is currently the CRNA Manager of the Ambulatory Division of Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Donna joined Vanderbilt as a staff CRNA in 2009 and assumed her current managerial role in 2019. She has since seen their ambulatory division grow and expand their number of facilities in and around the Nashville area by almost double.
Prior to joining Vanderbilt, Donna was an anesthetist with Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists at St. Thomas Hospital (West) in Nashville, TN.
A dedicated colleague with a deep appreciation for the sense of community and caregiving that occurs among workgroups, Donna took an active role in implementing well-being strategies within her workspace for herself and colleagues early during the pandemic in 2020, and continues to advocate for well-being within her workplace. Since 2020, she has presented nationally on the topics of supportive leadership as it relates to wellness, well-being in the workplace, and individual well-being, as well as student/resident anesthetist well-being. Additionally, she has been a guest on podcasts where she has spoken on these topics as well as co-authored editorials on the subject.
Donna currently serves as the Chair of AANA’s Wellness Committee for FY 2025 and is on TANA’s Wellness Committee as well as the DEI Task Force. She served as the AANA Chair of Health and Wellness Committee for FY 2024 and was on the AANA Health and Wellness Committee for FY 2023, as well.
Donna graduated Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia in 2003 with a Master of Science with Emphasis in Nurse Anesthesia. She later returned and earned her DNAP in 2020.
