TANA Member Information: AANA Proposed Bylaw Amendments 5 and 6

This year the AANA Bylaw Amendments will be heard prior to the business meeting and is currently scheduled for Friday, August 14, 2020 from 6-7 pm CDT via Zoom. The purpose of this letter is to detail information regarding two key Bylaw Amendments that are scheduled to go into effect in August 2020.

PROPOSED AMENDMENT #5 – Regional Representation

* A YES vote on this amendment maintains an AANA Regional Director representative system. Tennessee WOULD continue to be represented on the AANA Board of Directors by a CRNA residing and practicing in Region 2. * A NO vote will allow the Director-at-Large system to go into effect. Creates a chance that Tennessee COULD be represented on the AANA Board of Directors by a CRNA that doesn’t reside or practice in Region 2.

PROPOSED AMENDMENT #6 – Voting Mechanism

(This bylaw amendment will take effect only if the 2020 Bylaw Amendment entitled “Regional Representation” is adopted above.)

* A YES vote means Regional Directors are elected only by members of their own geographic region. Tennessee CRNAs would vote ONLY on candidates for Region 2.  * A NO vote means that Regional Directors will continue to be elected by all AANA members regardless of their geographic region.

TANA members are members of Region 2. Let your voice be heard. Heed the importance of the proposed Amendments and vote on August 15, 2020.
